CASA GRANDE, Ariz. – Casa Grande Police Department officials said they were investigating a shooting that left two people dead.
Filming took place on Sunday evening
According to a statement posted to the department’s Facebook page on April 25, officers responded around 8:39 p.m. on April 24 to multiple reports of shots being fired at an apartment complex near Florence Boulevard and Pottenbaum Road. . At the scene, officers found two victims with multiple gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, police say, was found inside a car with gunshot wounds to his chest, and the other victim was found directly behind the car, also with gunshot wounds to his chest. .
Police say the victim found inside the car, identified as 18-year-old Leslie Cota, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, identified only as a 17-year-old female, was transported to a Phoenix-area hospital and died shortly before midnight.
“Currently, it is not known what the motivation or cause of this shooting is. It is also not known whether these two women were the intended targets,” read part of the statement.
Police are looking for a vehicle
In the statement, officials say that while there is no physical description of the suspect(s), they believe a new model silver or gray Chrysler 300 was involved and could have been driven by the suspects or used as a getaway car.
“A more detailed description of the possible suspect vehicle is tinted windows, black rims, with a loud exhaust,” read part of the statement.
